League of Legends World Championship to be Held in Europe This Year | League of Legends | eSports

Riot announced that the League of Legends Riot World Championship will be held in Europe in October this year.

Last year, the month long event started in Taipei, continued in Singapore and then ended with the playoffs and finals in Seoul's Sangam Stadium, which seats over 66,000 people.

This year, the various rounds of the tournament will be held in different cities throughout Europe.

“Our goal is to bring live eSports action to a broad base of fans across Europe and to provide an exciting and diverse backdrop for fans watching at home,” Riot announced.

There were rumors that the World Championship would take place in China, which would be suitable since China has been booming with eSports and League of Legends recently. However, Europe took the 2015 honors this year around.

Precise details of the tournament venues will become available later this year.
