How to Build Your Pro Gaming Schedule and Decide What Tournaments to Attend

Being a pro eSports Gamer can be hard for a variety of reasons. Sometimes there are no tournaments and sometimes the potential earnings just aren't there. In any case, it's essential that you stay on top of things by building a schedule and deciding what tournaments you attend in a clear manner.

Will you attend the few big tournaments with a lot of prize money and only concentrate on those, or will you attend every tournament that you can no matter the potential earnings to keep yourself on shape? Indeed, it's a hard question to answer and for that you need to pay attention to the type of player that you are.

Building Your Training Schedule

Building your training schedule is essential to go about your eSports gaming career at the right pace. You don't want to burn yourself out at unnecessary periods during the year or slack so much that you will lose your game.

So, to keep yourself in good shape, establish the minimum number of hours that you will have to put in to play at your normal level and what you will need then to do when you accelerate things leading up to that big tournament. This is necessary because playing at your best level each and every day is hardly possible and you're human like everybody else so you will need some vacation like everybody else. After you've established a certain amount of time as the standard training, start looking at the calendar to see what events are coming.

Plan Your Tournaments in Advance

Preferably, try not to hear about tournaments from friends or other contacts. You ideally want to be the first one on the news and check the website regarding your game on a regular basis. A lot of the time, other players hear about tournaments too late from friends and get all hyped up about it at the last minute and everything becomes a chaos – planning the hotel, practice, training partners, etc. By planning your tournaments in advance and being the first on the news of which tournaments are coming, you can avoid that chaos and control your shape perfectly with your practice schedule.

Don't necessarily wait for your friends to become hyped about a tournament if you need that it will truly be worth it. And then the opposite is also true – try not to get too hyped about a tournament that you hear about at the last minute, because it could cost you a lot of time while you don't have the necessary preparation to compete there. It's hard to control the urge of going to a tournament everyone is talking about in your game community, but your goal as a future pro eSports gamer is to remain objective about everything concerning money and training.

Have you been able to do these things in the past? Or do you have some things to change?
